Green Flash At Sunset

"Do you have a moment?" Sirius brushed his flaming hair away from his face. The flares betrayed his nerves.

"Hallo." Sol smiled at him with golden warmth. "What is it?"

"It's rather lonely, with the Companion's sphere empty. Even though I'm busy -- I find I miss our conversations."

"Ah." Sol nodded. "It was splendid to talk to you. I'm busy, you know --"

"I know. Might I visit, sometimes? While you were over the Pacific, say?"

"That would be fine." Sol peered at him a moment, then kissed him, embracing him under his spreading wings.

Sirius grinned fiercely. "More than fine."
