Robinton was more than a mentor, an intellectual father, a sometime matchmaker, and more beloved than anyone else. They knew it from the first time they embraced, and when they mentioned it to him -- all three cushioned with good Benden white -- he laughed and kissed Menolly lightly.
Sebell touched his shoulder; Robinton's cheeks flushed. "It's a bad precedent."
"I know, Master." Sebell kissed his cheek.
Menolly squeezed his hand. "We're not your apprentices anymore."
"Still, child."
"And I'm not a child." She placed his hand on her breast.
"No, you're not." And when Sebell kissed him, he did not protest.
